	There is some controversy about whether or not this actually represents a separate subspecies since there is no actual physical division across the island. According to the literature, the eastern variety has vermiculate patterning on its body, however with pattern and colour variation being so extreme in this species, on further investigation there may prove to be only one species of Anolis conspersus.
